Description:

Bonus features Otis Redding's unreleased live European tour with Booker T & the MG's, Eric Burdon, and Mitch Ryder the day before his death, and his last TV show before his death. This is a collection of previously unreleased live performances by the great R&B singer Otis Redding. Originally from Georgia in the southern United States, Otis made his debut on the prestigious Memphis R&B label STAX/VOLT, admiring Sam Cooke and Little Richard, and became one of the leading singers of Atlantic soul. She became known to general music fans, including the white demographic, especially for her legendary performance at the Monterey Pop Fest in 1967. Just before that, in April, they toured Europe as STAX/VOLT Review with Sam & Dave. Backed by Booker T. & the MG's, which included Steve Cropper, and the Marquis on horns, the band played legendary shows in various European cities. The London and Paris shows were only released to the public in 2008, but the Stockholm show on April 6, 2008 is included here. The performance includes "Fa Fa Fa Fa," "Day Tripper," Sam Cooke's "Shake," and the classic "Try a Little Tenderness" from the latest album "Soul Dictionary," as well as the Stones' cover "Satisfaction," all with a passionate "This is Soul! The previous year, the band also performed on the popular British TV show "Les Mis" in the U.K. The video was previously released in the 80's, but this is a newly remastered version of the original recording, which is now available on CD. The recording was originally released on video in the 80's, but has been newly remastered for this release. The two bonus tracks are from Otis' last live performance before his death. The bonus tracks include "Knock on Wood" and "Respect" from the December 9 show on Cleveland's UPBEAT TV show with Detroit Wheels leader Mitch Ryder. This is not a complete performance, but it is the first CD release of this rare last performance. The next day, December 10, the plane carrying Otis and eight others crashed into the frigid Lake Monona. The plane crashed into the frigid waters of Lake Monona on December 10, and the eight people on board, including Otis, were killed. What does that mean? What does it mean?" Otis said before his death. On stage at the Monterey Pop Festival, he asked the audience, black and white, "Do you love each other? He transcended racial boundaries and loved only music. Please listen to this masterful performance by a soul singer from a bygone era. Liner notes in Japanese, including the circumstances of the time, episodes, and song titles, are included in Eternal Grooves' "ROCK OFF" series.
