Kramer, Peter & Gordon, Jerry & The Pacemakers, and more are all included on Eternal Grooves' "ROCK OFF" series! Lennon & McCartney's songs for other artists in the 60's are recorded on the original recordings made by those artists at that time. Included are demo recordings by John and Paul as well as the original songs by the Quarrymen in addition to the Beatles. A number of extravagant songs written by the two artists at the height of their creativity for others. It is truly a treasure trove of hidden gems even when heard today. Some of the songs reached No. 1 on the charts, such as Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas and Peter & Gordon, while others were forgotten over time and are hard to find, having only been released as singles at the time. Billy J. Kramer is the John! Billy J. Kramer's "Bad To Me," a UK No. 1 with a great melody, and "From A Window," a melody that is unmistakably Paul's. Peter & Gordon's "From A Window" was a US No. 1. Peter & Gordon's "A World Without Love," which reached No. 1 in the U.S., and "Woman," a beautiful melody provided by Paul under a different name, and "From a Window," a song with Paul's signature melody, are also included. The Formost from Liverpool are "Hello Little Girl" and "I'm In Love. The Beatles' own song "Like Dreamers Do," written before their debut, reached #20 in the UK by Applejacks. Black British singer Kenny Lynch covers "Missouri", a connection from being with the Beatles on their early UK tours. Mike Shannon & The Strangers are "One And One Is Two". This is a hidden gem that has been well received by deep Beatles fans. Cilla Black, a former checkroom attendant at the Cavern Club, made her debut with "Love Of The Loved" after the Beatles recognized her singing voice. Paul also provided her with "It's For You," a fine Burt Bacharach-inspired song. The only instrumental song is "Cat Call" by Chris Barber.Paul wrote this song with a jazz band in mind from his Quarrymen days. The American singer Nancy Wilson covered "And I Love Her" as "And I Love Him" from a woman's point of view, as she belongs to Capitol Records. And after the 23rd track, the original song is included. This is a demo that John and Paul recorded at home when contributing the song. The sound file on the acetate disc shows the precious songs of John and Paul in the early 60's. The original idea and the published version of the song can be heard in the demo. You can enjoy comparing the original idea with the published version. The songs by Lennon and McCartney are all songs that show the brilliance of their talents, even when you listen to them now. This is a must-listen collection for all music fans, not to mention Beatles fans. The Japanese commentary on the situation, episodes, and song titles of the time is included on the inside cover.
