Description:
First Limited Edition! March 5, 1963 - Includes all sessions from their third single, "From Me to You," with an additional session from September 12, 1963, available from Eternal Grooves in a completely limited digipak edition! The Beatles record their third single, a new song called "From Me to You. The coupling song is "Thank You Girl", also a new song. In addition, "One After 909," said to have been written around the time John and Paul met. This CD contains all the takes recorded that day at Abbey Road Studios from 2:30 to 9:00 PM. The song "From Me to You," which was expected to be the follow-up to the hit single "Please Please Me," had been written by John and Paul only five days earlier, on a bus during a UK tour. In the studio, they recorded seven takes, which were then dubbed. Initially, the intro phrase is played with George's guitar phrase, but on George Martin's advice, the phrase is built up with harmonica and chorus. Trial and error is used to replace the dalalalala and dundundaa with a falsetto chorus and humming. This is also described in "The Beatles: The Complete Recordings of the Recording Sessions" by Mark Lewisohn (Shinko Music), and is now a legend. The "Thank You Girl" was also recorded in 6 takes, and the ending part, which was rhythmically out of place, can be heard in 7 takes, with Ringo's drum fills playing wildly to compensate for the rhythmically out of place ending. The cool rock 'n' roll song "One After 909" was recorded in five takes, but someone always made a chord mistake or something, and the breathing did not match, resulting in the song being lost. John says to the member who made the mistake, "What the hell are you doing? John himself made a mistake, and Paul responded, "It's you, you. The conversations between the band members and the control room between songs are also uncut. You will hear a document of the Beatles without any lie. Moreover, it is a direct stereo mix from the master, which was recorded in 2-channel at the time, and is of the highest sound quality. As a bonus, the September 12 session is also included. This is the second day of the recording session for the second album, and includes nine takes of "Hold Me Tight" and four takes of George's own song "Don't Bother Me. From the control room, a snappy "Take 24! The Japanese commentary is a must-read, and includes the story behind George's mysterious mumbled voice in the intro of "Don't Bother Me," which can still be heard on the official disc, as well as an analysis of how the recording of "Thank You Girl" was a difficult process. The Japanese commentary is a must-read, and includes such things as an analysis of the difficulties of recording "Thank You Girl" and the story behind the recording of "Love Me Do" and "Please Please Me. Includes 8,200 detailed Japanese liner notes. 8 pages. 8 pages. ★JASRAC-licensed product by Japan Copyright Association ★Licensed photo jacket by Getty Images Japan.
