The precise selection of music will make the audience feel as if they were present at a royal celebration in its own time. The chorus thoroughly recreates the techniques and pronunciation of church music practices of the time, such as the harmony singing method of Faubourdon. Jean-Baptiste Nicolas, the conductor, was born in 1994, and the ensemble is made up mainly of young people who studied ancient music at the Conservatoire de Paris.The contrast between the powerful sound of the large ensemble with its richly flavored chorus and the exquisite organ solo is truly beautiful in this authentic album of ancient music.
