Among them, Chopin's Piano Sonata No. 3 and Szymanowski's Op. 10 were performed in Japan in January 2024 to great acclaim. I love Chopin's Third Sonata. I like Chopin's Third Sonata because the melody alone is already beautiful and does not need further embellishment. It is like the Mona Lisa, which needs no makeup. The same goes for the more technical works by Szymanowski. They remind me of the rapidly developing Scriabin, but sometimes they come closer to the Viennese style. I like to explore their inner workings, but they are not as technical as Rachmaninoff's. The great thing about their works is that every element is important and expresses something," says Fournel.
