Pearl Hellman: Complete Works in Existence, Vol. 3 Born in Budapest in 1902 to a Jewish family, Pearl Hermann studied composition with Bartók and Kodály at the Franz Liszt School of Music from 1915 to 1919 and wrote her first works with Leo Weinel, her chamber music teacher. His cello was taught by the renowned teacher Adolph Schiffer, and he performed frequently as a student, beginning his international career as a cellist at the age of 16. As a composer, he also published numerous works, but in 1944 he was captured by the Nazis and died prematurely, and his works were destroyed; only two were ever published. The album contains various piano pieces, organ pieces, recorder ensembles, and instrumental works such as lute and harpsichord pieces, which he was interested in, as well as some songs. The works of Schubert and Chopin, arranged by Hermann himself, who was a master cellist, are also worth listening to.
