Bar-eva visited Japan in May 2022 and Kholodenko in December 2023, and both left a strong impression on Japanese audiences. The first album on the ALPHA label is based on the theme of "fantasy," and features four carefully selected masterpieces in the form of fantasy pieces and fairy tales. The works are a dialogue of exquisite sound that depicts a variety of musical fantasies from the early 19th century to the 20th century, touching on the sources of Romantic culture up to the modern age. The pianism of Kholodenko, who shows his presence as a soloist when the occasion calls for it, and the violin of Bar-eva, who delivers an unparalleled ensemble performance, show a sincere devotion to each work, with a flexibility that draws out the overwhelmingly strong personality of each piece without overdoing it.Schumann's "Pictures from a Fairy Tale," which is often performed on the viola, is designated for violin as one of the instruments in the first edition of the score, and together with the profound interpretation of the two musicians, the freshness of the work emerges in a fresh and fresh image.
