Description:

This is a collection of works for organ and violin. Henri Marteau's "Fantasias" and "Preludes and Passacaglias" are written in the style of the Baroque period, inspired by the warm tones of the organ used in Lichtenberg in Upper Franconia, where he lived at the time of composition. The other works are by Wolfrum, who studied organ with Reger and Rheinberger, and Heller, who was born in Bamberg to an organist father. Enjoy the beautiful sound of the solemn organ melding with the gorgeous violin tones. Born in Bamberg in 1947, organist Edgar Krapp began his international career in 1971 when he won first prize at the Munich ARD Music Competition, and after teaching organ at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt and as a visiting professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, he became professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, He was appointed professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, a position he held until his retirement in 2012. Ingolf Truban is a violinist who has performed with the Berlin and Munich Philharmonic Orchestras, and has given solo performances in the world's major concert halls. He is also known for his active promotion of works that have rarely been performed before.
