Description:
The overlap of pianism and historical verification. Pashchenko's recording of Mozart's concertos, which is the first of its kind in the world, is a recording of Mozart's piano (fortepiano) of the time that Mozart knew and played with an orchestra using ancient instruments of the time, which is how he intended the works to be played. Mozart's piano concertos have often been recorded under this concept. If nowadays it is difficult to attract attention simply by saying that they were played on ancient instruments, Olga Pasichenko and Il Gardelino's performance is outstanding in terms of both the certainty of their interpretation and the outstanding quality of their performance. It is no wonder that the Alpha label, which has a proven track record in old music, has dared to present a new recording of this much-competed program. Pashchenko's teacher is Alexei Lyubimov, a master musician who has been active in a wide range of fields from contemporary to ancient music, starting from the Russian pianism of Genrich Neugeaus. The results of the strong spirit of inquiry, both in historical verification and musicality, that Pashchenko has cultivated under his tutelage are fully realized in this recording. The slow movement, with its finely detailed touch, and the Allegro, with its thrilling propulsive force and assured musical development. ......The Il Gardellino, whose Accent and Passacaille recordings have many greats, is led by the baroque oboe virtuoso Marcel Ponsert, who has worked with such leading players of ancient instruments as Hereweghe, Minkowski and Pierlot, in collaboration with the busy traverso player and producer Jan de Vinne. The group is led by the baroque oboe virtuoso Marcel Ponserre, who has played in the orchestras of such leading figures of ancient music as Herreweghe, Minkowski, and Pierro, along with the busy traverso player and producer Jan de Vinne (with Madoka Nakamaru on violin and Michiyo Kondo on violin). The winds are in fine form, as is the skillful teamwork of the strings. Alpha's unique Mozart recordings from the forefront of the European classical music scene are not to be missed! Naxos Japan
