Description:
The Elysium Ensemble has received high praise for its previous Boismortier and Telemann works. Now comes a collection of concertos by Kwanz, performed solo by flutist Greg Dickmans, the ensemble's principal flutist. Kwanz won fame as a flute teacher for King Frederick the Great of Prussia, and was privileged to compose a vast number of flute concertos, most of which were performed at the court of King Frederick the Great. His book "An Essay on Flute Technique" published in 1752 had a great influence on later generations. In this album, Dickmans and Lucinda Moon on violin take the initiative to breathe new life into Kwanz's craft-like works. Naxos Japan
