The Soffs will be releasing a mini-album exclusively at Tower Records in Japan! The Sophs are a huge new melodic pop band from Rough Trade Records, a prestigious label that has produced The Smiths, The Strokes, and The Libertines in the past, and has recently discovered Black Midi and others. The band's debut single "SWEAT" has been a hot topic of conversation here in Japan and around the world, and the six-piece band from Los Angeles will release their Japan-exclusive mini album "The Sophs" on December 5 (Friday) as a Tower Records limited edition CD in Japan. The album will include their debut single "SWEAT", an unreleased song "IN MY OWN WAY", and "THROWING ARM", which was included on the 7" B-side of "DEATH IN THE FAMILY" and has not been released digitally.In conjunction with the release, a drawing will be held to select 10 winners to receive prints autographed by the band members. In conjunction with the release, a new song "I'M YOUR FIEND," which will also appear on the album, was released today along with a music video. This single follows the previously released singles "SWEAT", "DEATH IN THE FAMILY", and a cover of Mac DeMarco's "For The First Time". This is one of The Soffs' most manic songs. It's a manic declaration of love and lust wrapped in a thick blanket of noise.
