Jerry Jeff Walker is a country singer-songwriter from Oneonta, New York, U.S.A. He started his career in Greenwich Village in the mid-1960s and made his debut with the psychedelic rock band Circus Maximus. After releasing two albums, the band disbanded due to differences in musical direction. This solo debut album was recorded by a young David Bromberg (guitar), Donnie Brooks (harmonica), Danny Milhorn (dobro), and other elite musicians of the New York folk scene. Produced by Tom Dowd.The title track "Mr. Bojangles," which was inspired by a man he met while incarcerated in a New Orleans prison, has been covered and sung by many artists, including the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Includes obi commentary.
