Cornell Dupree

Description:

<This is a rare solo masterpiece released in 1993 by Cornell Dupree, a famous guitarist who has contributed to many historical masterpieces since the early 60's. It is now available in Japan with an Obi commentary by All Days Records. *This is a solo work recorded in 1993 by Cornell Dupree, who has contributed to many historical masterpieces from the early 60's to today, and is a highly trusted guitarist who exploded in popularity in Japan as a member of the Staff. The album is a solo work recorded in 1993 by Cornell Dupree. This is an excellent work that shows off his bluesy playing with a mellow tone. Richard Tee, a close friend of Dupree's who has since passed away, also participated on this album as a horn arranger. A guitarist and studio musician trusted by many historical artists such as King Curtis, Miles Davis, and Aretha Franklin. He has played on many recordings including Brook Benton's "Rainy Night in Georgia," Aretha Franklin's "Live at Fillmore West," King Curtis' "Live at Fillmore West," and Danny Hathaway's "Live," to name just a few. From the early 60's to today, there is no doubt that he has participated in and performed on all kinds of great records, regardless of genre. In Japan, he is especially popular as an important member of the fusion band "Stuff" for his unique style of playing. This album is a solo work recorded in 1993 and released later. It is an excellent work that shows his bluesy playing in his characteristic mellow tone. In this album, too, his simple and lean phrasing technique is brilliant.Richard Tee, a close ally who has since passed away, also joins the band for horn arrangements. Randy Brecker's playing also shines. The album begins with "Bumpin," a rare multiple recording for Cornell. This is a rare opportunity for Cornell to play lead and rhythm at the same time. The two are in perfect synch (which is not surprising since they are the same person), and the guitar sound, with its strong effects, fits the fast-paced tune. The following song, "Short Stuff," is another good one. The signature Yamaha "Dupree Jam" model is completely at one with his mind and body. For those who want to hear Cornell's signature blues in all its glory, "For Blues Sake" awaits.
