Description:

In response to many requests for the reissue of Fujio Yamaguchi's first solo album "Himatsubushi" released in 1974, the album has been reissued in its original analog format with a cover band and a lyric card with unpublished photos. Limited reissue on color vinyl (clear light blue) for the first time! Third release in a three-month series by Fujio Yamaguchi! In December 1973, about six months after his last live performance in Murahachibu in May 1973, Fujio returned to Tokyo from Kyoto and recorded his first solo album, "Himatsubushi" at ELEC Studios. The recording members were Mitsuo Takazawa (bass) and Kiyoshi Takahashi (drums), and Fujio played blues harp, bass, and percussion, in addition to guitar and vocals. It is known as a masterpiece that shows the broad musicality of Fujio, who wanted to destroy the public image of a blues guitarist at that time. As mentioned in Fujio's book "SO WHAT," the sound that was completed after the trackdown process, which took an enormous amount of time, convinced Fujio that he had created a record that sounded absolutely great, but the record company's cutting process at the time resulted in a thin sound that was far removed from the sound Fujio heard during the trackdown process. However, the record company's cutting process at the time resulted in a flimsy sound that was far removed from what Fujio had heard at trackdown. He redid the recordings again, but the recordings that were released did not sound the way Fujio had intended, he says with regret. The reissued analog version released by HMV in 2021 was digitized from the original open-reel master, and the reissued version was also digitized from the original open-reel master. The mastering engineer is Nakamura Soichiro (PEACE MUSIC), who has worked on many of Fujio's works in recent years, including the 2022 remastered CD reissue of the same work, and the cutting engineer is master craftsman Takezawa Shigeru (Nippon Columbia). I'm sure that someday, even better analog will be produced and will coexist with the world of CDs once again. As Fujio said in his book "SO WHAT" (from Fujio Yamaguchi's book "SO WHAT"), the album was produced to reproduce the sound as close as possible to what Fujio wanted by taking advantage of the characteristics of analog discs, with the aim of bringing out the sound image more faithfully than recorded on the master. In addition to the specifications of the original release, including the cased obi, the album will be reissued in a limited edition on clear light blue vinyl for the first time, with a lyric card featuring previously unreleased photos from the release.
