This is the long-awaited second album by the "Classical Trio" led by violinist Junko Makiyama, who pioneers the horizon of jazz with a classical background. Compared to its predecessor, this album has evolved so intensely that it feels like a mutation. Not only Makiyama but also Seiji Nakabayashi (vc) and Tatsuya Harada (pf) have deepened their understanding of the trio, and the participation of Kenta Okamoto, a master drum and percussionist, is very significant. The three members' unity has given them a sense of unity that is evident in the bold transformation of the graceful masterpieces. The "fusion of music" has not only evolved but also deepened. In addition to the Classical Trio, Kenta Okamoto, percussionist and drummer, joined the band for this album. The sound is thicker than in the previous album. It also includes three of my original compositions in addition to the classically-derived pieces.We are furthering the fusion of classical music and jazz. The concept of this unit is to present fresh jazz arrangements of familiar classical masterpieces. The goal is for the audience to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime improvised performance, live and breathing, of live music. The year 2024 has begun with a tumultuous start.
