The latest recording by Yoshimitsu Okada, a tenor saxophonist who continues to walk the high road of hard bop. This is the latest album by Yoshimitsu Okada, a veteran tenor saxophonist who, along with his own group, has long held the tenor sax position in Hiroshi Murata & The Bop Band, a prestigious group with a tradition spanning about half a century. The rhythm section consists of three mid-level jazz musicians currently leading the Japanese jazz scene, Hiroyuki Takubo (piano) and Yosuke Tamura (drums), as well as bass player Hiromoto Sato, who devotes himself to musical activities in Tohoku. The music is mainly hard bop and ballads, which are Okada's forte, but also includes some pop tunes. We hope you will enjoy this latest recording by Yoshimitsu Okada, who continues to walk the high road of hard bop.
