Eleven pieces from the classics to the present day, unfold like a picture scroll through the colorful sounds of a C.B. Fisk pipe organ. This C.B. Fisk (USA) organ is named "Luna." The origin of the name comes from the hope that it will deliver a "light" of sound to people, like the light of the moon that shines quietly and powerfully and envelops the viewer's heart" (from the CD preface). The Luna is a two-stage, 26-stop keyboard instrument that has been well-loved inside and outside the university since it was installed at Kobe International University in 2006. Junko Ito is an experienced organist with a wide repertoire, having spent many years working on, performing on, and studying the famous organ installed not only at the university, but also at Rikkyo University, Kobe Shoin Women's Gakuin University, and St. Luke's International University. This year's album is an intimate selection of pieces associated with the "moon" and "light" in the hope that Luna's charms will reach people's hearts. The chapel (seating capacity of 100), where the organ is located, has a high, sloping ceiling toward the altar, which gives the reverberation of sound a mysterious character; listening to this album, which begins with a variation on J. Allan's "The Creator of Light," one can enjoy the true pleasure of being enveloped by the clear light, like a guest invited to the chapel.＜Junko Ito＞ Graduated from Rikkyo University, Department of Literature, English and American Literature, then graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Instrumental Music, Organ Course, and completed a diploma course at Ferris University School of Music. Studied at the New England Conservatory of Music for a short period of time. He has performed in halls and churches in Japan and abroad. After 13 years as an organist at Rikkyo University, he is currently an organist at Kobe International University, a part-time lecturer and music instructor at Kobe Shoin Women's Gakuin University, and an organist at St. Luke's Chapel, St. Luke's International University. Organist of the Kobe Diocese of the Anglican Church of Japan. Member of the Institute of Church Music at Rikkyo University. Member of the Japan Organist Association and the Japan Organ Study Group.
