Toward a horizon beyond “senior rock.” 50th Anniversary Original Album “e.d.morrison” *An anagram of “moonriders.” With every member contributing one song each, this new album—which features full participation from Wataru Sawabe, who has consistently tightened up the live performances over the past few years with his precise and respectful support, and Yusuke Sato—who have consistently provided precise and respectful support during live performances over the past few years, helping to solidify the band’s stage presence—have fully participated in this new release. In addition to tracks created through one-take recording sessions by the entire band, each member contributed one song, weaving in observations of current societal trends and the band’s current state to create a rich and diverse album. While they billed their previous album, released in 2022, as “senior rock,” this new work once again breaks new ground in Japanese rock music with lyrics imbued with defiance, detachment, and literary depth, along with a genre-defying sound—reaching a truly unique “Moonriders sound.” Once again, every member takes on lead vocals and participates in the backing vocals, and with the cooperation of SoundCrewStudio, a diverse array of instruments was used in the recording. For a band that has championed cutting-edge music for 50 years, this is a complex work that poses questions to our stifling modern era. The title “e.dmorrison” is an anagram of “Moonriders.” Since the 1980s, this name has been used as a collective credit when all members collaborate on a project. The adoption of “e.dmorrison” as the title for this album embodies the sentiment that it was created by all members of the Moonriders, including Tetsuro Kashibuchi and Toru Okada.
