The first album by the greatest jazz piano icon, Bill Evans, for Columbia. In addition to the original numbers he wrote, immortal classics such as "Waltz for Debbie" and "Funkarello" were reworked with new arrangements. The performance on Fender Rhodes was also a big hit. This album won the Grammy Awards for "Best Jazz Solo" and "Best Jazz Group," and was an important work that marked the beginning of Evans' later period. Recorded in 1971 with Eddie Gomez on bass and Marty Morrell on drums.
