Description:
In 2012, world-renowned violinist Teiko Maebashi celebrated the 50th anniversary of the start of her performing career. She studied at the Leningrad Conservatory, then at the Juilliard School in the U.S., and then in Switzerland under the virtuoso violinists Szigeti and Mirshtein before returning to Japan in 1980. DISC 1 is a collection of concertos with orchestra, and DISC 2 is a selection of solo works. DISC2 contains a track from her new album (Avex) after transferring to Avex, and is truly a set that traces the trajectory of Teiko Maebashi through her discography. Cover photo by Kishin Shinoyama.
