Project for the 115th anniversary of Takashi Asahina's birth. Asahina's new and old recordings of his beloved repertoire, coupled for the first time! Includes two versions of the "Alps" symphony, well known for his guest appearances with overseas orchestras. New manuscript by Ryosuke Masuda and commentary by Kenshi Kaneko and Kuniyoshi Uno on the first release are re-recorded for the latest reissue. New mastering by Tomotoshi Ezaki for this reissue. Limited edition of 700 sets with serial numbers! It is a well-known fact among fans that "Alpine Symphony" was Takashi Asahina's beloved repertoire. The old 1991 disc, selected from professional orchestras throughout Japan, is "a rare and passionate performance that perfectly combines the professionalism and dedication of the musicians" (from Kenshi Kaneko's liner notes), and "even among the CDs of the world's great orchestras, his sympathetic conducting is unique" (from Uno). Both of these new recordings offer a magnificent panoramic view of the world around us. The new album features a new manuscript by Ryosuke Masuda, re-publication of the original old manuscript, new mastering by Tomotoshi Ezaki in 2023, green label specifications, and more. Tower has been reissuing many sound sources from multiple labels, mainly as part of its anniversary projects. Recently, we have had many opportunities to release many major recordings from the early CD specs to the last years of his career on the latest, SACD hybrid discs. In a series of reissue projects with Octavia Records, we have reissued mainly from Canyon Classics recordings, and have produced authentic, up-to-date reissues by the production team of the time.As part of the 115th anniversary of his birth project, we have decided to reissue the latest important albums that have been requested by our listeners, including our most ardent fans, from among the previously omitted but important recordings, especially rare sound recordings that have been discontinued or are no longer in production.
