Mondo Musica's Teatro La Fenice series is back! In Venice, where theater culture had flourished since the dawn of opera in the early 1600s, there were many fires in theaters, and there were also constant battles between the nobility and landlords over the management of theaters. The first fire in 1792, the first fire in 1793, and the first fire in 1794. The first fire, however, was not enough and the theater burned down 44 years later in 1836, but was rebuilt the following year in 1837 thanks to the efforts of the aristocratic society that ran it. During the lucky 159 years of its long history, the theater was made safe by the change of lighting from oil to gas in 1844, and it was fortunate not to be damaged during the balloon bomb attack by Austrian troops in 1849, the Austrian attack in 1918, and the Allied bombing in 1945. The building had a long history. In 1996, 159 years after its reconstruction, the theater was destroyed by an arson attack by an electrician, bringing an end to this fortunate history.The Teatro La Fenice had been operated by the city of Venice since 1937, and since taxpayers' money would be used to rebuild the theater, it was certain that things would not go as smoothly as before. The members of the Teatro La Fenice had to perform in alternative venues, but the number of performances would decrease and the revenue would also decrease due to rental fees from other theaters, so they decided to release a full-price CD with the name of the Teatro La Fenice to help fund the reconstruction. The CD release was produced by the Munich-based label Mondo Musica, using recordings from the Teatro La Fenice, which were remastered in 20-bit HD and released as part of the label's "Teatro La Fenice Series" (produced in Italy). The rebuilding of the theater began in earnest in 2001, and the opening of the theater was successfully completed in December 2003.In July 2024, the Teatro La Fenice will move to Hamburg, where it has signed a licensing agreement with Black Hill Pictures, a Hamburg-based video and music production company, which will release the soundtrack of "Mondo Musica" at the Teatro La Fenice.
