Katarina Boiml, a Munich-born specialist in Baroque oboe & historical double reed instruments, who is also the founder of Capella de la Torre, an ancient instrument ensemble that connects ancient and modern music with the music of Schaum and the accordion duo Landini. Accordionist Margit Kahn, a native of nearby Darmstadt and professor emeritus at the Bremen High School of the Arts. Founded in 2010 by Boiml and Kahn, Mixture is a project that combines the music of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance with specially commissioned new music, bringing the two together. The fourth album, "Francesco's Homage," combines the music of Francesco Landini, the most celebrated Italian composer of the late 14th century, with young Iranian-born musicians Farzia Farah, Arsalan Abedian, Ehsan Ebrahimi and others (Abedian and Abedian and Ebrahimi also perform on the Iranian percussion instrument "santoor"), and improvisation.
