Description:

In the past few years, the Jazz Is Dead event in LA has been gaining popularity for its exceptional planning and concept, including a miraculous live collaboration between Wendell Harrison and Phil Ranelin, founders of the legendary black jazz label Tribe, and a reunion show of the famous jazz rap pioneers, the Diggable Planets. Jazz Is Dead" is a jazz event in L.A. that has been gaining popularity over the past few years for its exceptional planning and concept. Jazz Is Dead" has finally started its own label! The label is headed by The Midnight Hour, a duo consisting of the genius Adrian Young and ATCQ producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad. The sixth and final installment of this series features Gary Bartz, one of the leading representatives of jazz funk in the 70s, who was also a guest on Doug Kahn's album released as the fifth installment! He played with many jazz giants such as McCoy Tyner and Art Blakey in the 1960s, and was used by Miles Davis Band during the fusion era in the 1970s. Gary Bartz has left behind a number of jazz-funk classics, including "The Sadow Do" and "Music Is My Sanctuary," both of which were produced by the famous Mizell Brothers. His "Gentle Smiles (Saxy)" in particular, which has been sampled by ATCQ and Mitsu the Beats, is one of the most popular jazz funk songs of the 70's. He is loved by the sampling generation as much as Roy Ayers, the first artist in the series, and he has also recorded with Adrian Young, Ali Shaheed Moufarrige, and Ali Shaheed Moufarrige. He co-wrote all eight tracks recorded with Adrian Young and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.Different from the colorful atmosphere of the aforementioned masterpiece by the Mizell Brothers, the mahogany-colored sound of the Midnight Hour is different from the mere rehash of the 70's. However, the mellow chorus work of Sky High Productions that appears in various parts of the album is unintentionally charming. The mellow chorus work, which appears throughout the album, is a trick that makes you grin and smile, and is one word for it. The groovy jazz-funk dancer "Distant Mode" is spiced up with Adrian's psychedelic flavor, and the rhythm of the drum'n'bass style pops up at times, while Adrian and Ali's rose, bass, and organ work provide the groundwork, The band's mainstay, Gary Bartz, plays a beautiful saxophone as if he were singing, and you will be immersed in a superb jazz funk experience from start to finish.
