Description:

Marzi's dignified and noble approach. Mozart Concertos No. 3 & No. 4 are now available! The second release by Marzi from Hensler's popular SWR archive reissue series is now available! The recording features Mozart's Violin Concertos No. 3 and No. 4 with the SWR Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Hans Müller-Kreis. Marzi is still one of the most popular violinists in the world, but due to the short period of his activity, his remaining recordings are rare and rare, and this authorized first release is a delight for Marzi fans. Both recordings are in mono, but the sound quality is very good, and the remastering is perfect. The Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major, K. 218, was one of Marzi's favorite works and was recorded in November 1952 with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks under Eugen Jochum, but this recording was made in October 1956 for broadcast. The performance is so full-toned and full of life that one is struck by the impact of the music after the first listen, and one can enjoy the performance of Marzi in his prime. On the other hand, the Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major, K. 216 was recorded in June 1954 with the Philharmonia Orchestra under the direction of Wolfgang Sawallisch after the contract with EMI. This is a live concert recording made in Stuttgart on December 4, 1962. The instrument used was a 1733 Carlo Bergonzi "Tarisio," a gift from Marzi's second marriage partner, Daniel Schudi, and it sounds beautifully and spontaneously. It is said that Marzi used this instrument for all of his subsequent recordings, so it is also noteworthy that this is a recording made on his favorite instrument. Please enjoy this album together with Marzi's first (Mendelssohn, Brahms Concerto/94226).
