Julius Berger, a cello virtuoso whose activities are centered on contemporary music, has released a creative album that evokes new horizons in cello music. By looking at and playing different world traditions through the cello, he creates music that has never been experienced before.
The theme of the album is the culture of the Kimbri people, who still speak their own language and live in northern Italy, and traditional, simple folk songs are also featured. The arrangements are full of exciting sounds of multiple cellos performing their best, yet they are somehow nostalgic and beautiful in a mysterious world. Most of the pieces on this album have been performed at the "Asiago Festival," which has been held for 25 years, and while the cello plays the leading role, the compositions are varied, making this album a reminder of the limitless possibilities of the cello.
