Raquel Camarina is a Portuguese soprano with a uniquely bright voice who has been in demand for opera performances of Handel and Mozart. She will perform all of Chopin's songs. All of Chopin's songs are written in Polish and have a strong element of folk music, a world that would be difficult only for a Polish singer, but Camarina, who also specializes in Portuguese fado, beautifully expresses the "jarl" (sorrow) characteristic of Polish music. For the coupling, she performed seven songs from Schubert's "Wilhelm Meister," based on Goethe's poem. The image of Mignon as a young girl emerges. King International
