Description:
Katsaris had released one album of Bach concertos during his Teldec era, but that was a standard collection featuring four works by Johann Sebastian. This new release includes the first-ever recording of the Fourth Concerto, along with four concertos by members of the Bach family—a total of five pieces. The concept is “A Panoramic View of the Family’s Genealogy Through Concertos.” Setting aside J.S. Bach, there aren’t many CDs where you can hear the family’s works performed on a modern piano, so this is a valuable release. Katsaris’s own cadenzas are featured in the pieces by Wilhelm Friedemann. Recorded in July 2003 at the Grand Hall of the Luxembourg Conservatory. Tokyo M-Plus
