Producer Bob Seale, also known by his pen name George Douglas, who wrote the lyrics to Satchmo's "This Wonderful World," was renowned for his sessions with John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Archie Shepp and others during his tenure at Impulse! This is the first CD release of his 1969 2-CD masterpiece on his own FLYING DUTCHMAN label! The album combines the dynamic performance of the big band led by Tom Scott, blues, avant-garde, Coltrane, and the Beatles. In addition to the title track, the album is packed with killer songs such as "Lanoola Goes Limp". Backed by Ornette Coleman, Charlie Haden, Charles Moffett, Elvin Jones, Howard Roberts, Horace Tapscott, Joe Pass, Joe Farrell, Bill Perkins, and more.
