This is the 99th collection of the popular "New Compositions for Concert Band" series by the Dutch sheet music publisher Molenaar Editions. Sergei Prokofiev's ballet "Romeo and Juliet" has fascinated music fans around the world. It has been 30 years since "Romeo and Juliet" Part 1, arranged by Johan de Mey, was released. Johan de Mey has completed a new work that is a sequel to the first part. This three-part suite is not a mere arrangement from an existing orchestral suite, but a completely new approach, selected from the entire ballet and developed from scratch for a wind band arrangement. Magnificent, dramatic, and overwhelmingly expressive, it delivers deep emotions to both the performers and the audience. Johan de Mey's vivid orchestrations and deep musical insight have beautifully depicted Prokofiev's world view on the canvas of the brass band. This work is intended for all music fans, from classical music fans to brass band enthusiasts.Also included is the familiar yet audible "Tuba Little Concerto" by Carlos Marquez, which spotlights the tuba, often considered a supporting role, and "Pinaso" by Saúl Gómez Soler, which was also performed as a free choice at the 2017 World Music Competition (WMC). This is a collection of brass band works that is well worth listening to.
