The first Fleetwood Mac led by Peter Green, the guitar prodigy of British blues. Debut album "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac" (analog) released in 1968, the beginning of the legendary rock group. The first Fleetwood Mac was led by one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Peter Green (1946-2020). Formed in 1967 after Greene left John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, the band included rhythm section members Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. Greene, anticipating his own departure at some point, wanted the band to have a lasting identity after his involvement, so he named the band "Fleetwood Mac" after them. With the addition of two talented guitarists, Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan, the band quickly gained attention for their sophisticated blues playing. They went on to produce some highly successful rock classics and instrumentals, but Greene left the band in May 1970. This debut album consists of blues standards and original compositions by Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer. Produced by Mike Vernon and released on his Blue Horizon label in early 1968, it is an undeniable highlight of the British blues boom and an important work in the development of 60s rock. It features covers by Robert Johnson, Elmore James, and others, including "I Loved Another Woman," which later became the prototype for Santana's "Black Magic Woman. Representing the beginning of one of the most popular and legendary rock groups of all time, this album is widely regarded as one of their greatest works.
