Paul van Nevel and the Huelgas Ensemble pursue the beauty of Renaissance polyphonic music. The album celebrating the 50th anniversary of the ensemble is a two-disc set that shows the diversity of Flemish polyphonic music from the 14th to 16th centuries. Included are works by outstanding composers such as Buenoit, Gombert, and Josquin des Prez, as well as lesser-known composers such as Josquin Baston, Jean Leritier, and Jean Mouton, who deserve attention.
