The cult UK punk duo Threeford Mods, Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn, have released their long-awaited latest album on the Rough Trade label, which is their sixth album following their best of the year album, which debuted at number 10 in the UK. Spare Ribs" was recorded over three weeks in their hometown of Warehouse, Nottingham during a lockdown, and features up-and-coming punk artist Billy No Mates on the lead single "Mork n Mindy", as well as the punk-tinged "Mork" from Melbourne, and the punk-rocking "Mork" from the UK's biggest punk band, The Sleaford Mods. The album also features Amy Taylor of Melbourne punk band Amir and the Sniffers, also part of Rough Trade, on the first single, "Mork n Mindy" with up-and-coming punk artist Billy Normates.The duo's indignation at the government's sense of entitlement, symbolized by the British government's cavalier response to the new coronavirus crisis, explodes as they say, "Human life is expendable for the elite... We are always in a state of 'spare ribs. We are always in a state of 'Spare Ribs'..." As they say, "We are always in a state of 'Spare Ribs'", the duo's unparalleled dry sense of humor makes this film a scathing criticism of the government, and a great work of resistance.
