Alma Deutscher, the second coming of Mozart in the 21st century, is a child prodigy who has captivated even the great Zubin Mehta. The much-talked-about opera "Cinderella," written when she was only 8 years old, has been released on video by Sony Classical. Composer, violinist, and pianist Alma Deutscher was born in 2005 in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England. Her parents, a university professor and linguist, are both amateur musicians. Alma was moved by R. Strauss's "Lullaby" when she heard it at the age of three, and at the age of four she began to form various melodies in her head. At the age of nine, he wrote a violin concerto, and at twelve, a piano concerto, each of which he premiered as soloist. She likes Mozart, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, and other composers with beautiful melodies and harmonies, but she is also interested in female composers such as Fanny Mendelssohn, who wanted to be a musician, and Nannerl, Mozart's sister. He says, "I want to change the world the way Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin changed the world."Already she has been called "Mozart redux" and is highly acclaimed.In August 2018, she made her debut as composer, violinist, and pianist at the Lucerne Festival, playing her own compositions as well as Bach's Partita and Scarlatti's Sonata.In September, she toured Northern Europe In September, she performed her own "Cinderella" with members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra on a cruise through Northern Europe. The opera, which Alma began composing at age 8, was completed in a chamber version at age 10 and premiered in Israel in 2015. The following year, in 2016, a version with an expanded structure and orchestration was realized in Vienna with the support of Zubin Mehta, creating a sensation (performed in German). The following year, in December 2017, an expanded version was performed in English at the San Jose Opera in the U.S., featuring Jane Glover, the famous conductor of the London Mozart Players, and young singers who had recently won American competitions.This performance, which marked Alma Deutscher's U.S. debut as a composer, attracted the attention of the national music media and was featured prominently in numerous media outlets, including CBS's famous "60 Minutes" documentary program.
