The new album by Jimone Kermes, the exotic diva of the baroque opera world, is a collection of Handel arias. The selections range from well-known to little-known operas and oratorios, from those that speak of love to those of seemingly insane resentment, and show a wide range of expression. Kermes studied in Leipzig, where she won prizes in various international competitions, and began her career in 1996 with a focus on German opera houses, eventually becoming active in the period approach repertoire, from ancient music to early Romanticism, where her voice and dramatic expression have won her critical acclaim. She has received critical acclaim for her voice and dramatic expression. She has recorded many unique solo albums for Sony Classical and Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, and has also participated in the complete recordings of "The Marriage of Figaro" and "Cosi fan tutte" by Kralenzis. Handel is truly a musical idol for Kermes, a composer who has played a major role in his life. Kermes even contributed his passion in the form of a letter to Handel in the liner notes of the album: "You are the one who has prepared the path of my life, my idol and guardian angel.With this album I want to express my gratitude for all you have done for me. Your music has introduced me to the wonders of classical music, and the arias you have composed have been with me all my life. As a 14-year-old student, I fell in love with you at a Christmas concert at the Leipzig Gewandhaus when you sang "O Fountain of Pleasant Tranquility and Peaceful Calm". My voice fits your music perfectly. On this album, Kermes sings with joy, excitement, madness, and lamentation, and together with her backing ensemble, she sings with as much emotion as if she were in a one-woman opera. Sony Music
