The 2nd Volume of the 80th Anniversary of the Great Järvi & the 90th Anniversary of the ENSO! Hungary's Leo Weinel! This double anniversary commemorates the 80th birthday of Nämé Järvi, the elder of Estonian music family, and the 90th anniversary of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, of which Järvi is the Music Director & Chief Conductor. The second release is a collection of orchestral works by 20th century Hungarian composer Leo Vejnár (1885-1960)! In recent years, Nämé Järvi and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra have won acclaim for their recordings of unknown Eastern European works such as "Charvenka (CHAN 10814)" and "Suhonu (CHAN 10849)". Vejner, who taught music theory, composition, and chamber music at the Budapest Music Academy (Liszt Academy of Music) and has mentored great Hungarian musicians such as Chörti, Dorati, and Kurtág, depicts Vejner's richly Hungarian works in a light-hearted and dense manner. Incidentally, Nämé Järvi also recorded Vejnár's "Suite of Hungarian Folk Dances" (CHAN 9029, out of print) in 1990, the first time in about 25 years, and the first album with Vejnár alone, since it was coupled with Bartók at that time.
