New Volume of "CHANDOS Film Music Collection"! Olwyn's 4th volume is now available! Chandos' highly acclaimed series "Chandos Movies" is proud to present the fourth volume of Olwyn's music. A flutist, educator, painter, and composer, William Olwyn (1905-1985) was one of the most important British composers of the 20th century, writing numerous film scores during his lifetime. Volume 4 is a brilliant lineup that demonstrates Olwyn's skill in creating music that conforms to a variety of subject matter, from the dramatic to the exotic, from the tragic to the documentary. Since the original scores for most of the works have disappeared, they have been reconstructed from soundtracks by Philip Lane, a British composer and musicologist known for his restoration of light and film music, and performed as suites for orchestra, etc.The orchestra will be performed by Ramon Gamba and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, veterans of more than 25 "Chandos Movies" recordings. This outstanding combination will show us another side of Olwynn as a film music composer! Tokyo M-Plus
