Following on the heels of his critically acclaimed debut album for DG in 2021, "Schubert: The Beautiful Watermill Girl," Italian-born baritone Andre Schuen, who specializes in German lieder, will release another collection of Schubert's songs. Of "Swan Song," Schubert's enigmatic last song cycle, André says, "It is my favorite of all Schubert's song cycles. I am especially moved by Heine's poetry," a yearning that began before he became a professional singer. This collection of songs on poems by Ludwig Lerstarp, Heinrich Heine, and Johann Gabriel Seidl was compiled after Schubert's untimely death. André is accompanied on piano by Daniel Heide of Germany, with whom he has collaborated since André was in his early 20s. Universal Music/IMS
