Three and a half years after the historical masterpiece of the century, "Titanic Rising," a new album by Natalie Mering, aka Wise Blood. And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow, her fourth album, co-produced with Jonathan Rado, is released. Sub Pop releases Weyes Blood's new album, And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow. The album will follow the 2019 release of Titanic Rising. Titanic Rising was named one of the best albums of the year by over 100 media outlets, including The AV Club, Pitchfork, NPR Music, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, Under the Radar, Uproxx, and All Music, The AV Club, Aquarium Drunkard, Pitchfork, PASTE, and Uproxx have named it Best of the Decade. All 10 songs on the album were written by Natalie Mering, aka Weyes Blood, with the exception of "A Given Thing" by Mering and Rodaidh McDonald, which was produced on the album by Mering and Jonathan Rado. It was mixed by Kenny Gilmore at Studio, 101 and mastered by Emily Lazar and Chris Allgood at The Lodge. The album also features guest appearances by Meg Duffy, Daniel Lopatin, and Mary Lattimore. Whereas Titanic Rising, the first of a special trilogy, was an observation of the coming doom, And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow is about being in the middle of it, an escape to free us from the algorithmic and ideological chaos that hatches are explored.
