The blues-rock legend, who has been called "the million-dollar guitarist" and "the last great guitarist who never visited Japan," made a miraculous first visit to Japan in April 2011 at the age of 67 (3 days at ZEPP). Fans who had been waiting for him for more than 40 years gathered from all over Japan, and it is still fresh in their memories that the tour was packed to capacity and turned into a frenzied Japan tour. Johnny Winter will turn 70 years old on February 23, 2014. In celebration of his 70th birthday, this gorgeous 4-CD set is the first ever archive of his career spanning over 40 years, from his first album "Progressive Blues Experiment" produced with his brother Edgar in 1968 to his latest album "Roots" in 2011. 27 albums across labels (including guest appearances by other artists) are included. The album contains 57 tracks selected from 27 albums (including live compilations and guest appearances by other artists), including previously unreleased and never-before-CDed material. This is truly "All About Johnny Winter".And, at the perfect time, he will be coming to Japan (4/12 in Nagoya, 4/13 in Osaka, 4/15 in Hiroshima, and 4/18,19,20 in Tokyo)! In addition, the long-awaited new album is scheduled to be released as early as spring. 2014 will bring Johnny's whirlwind again!
