After working with Don Nix's Alabama State Troopers, she later joined the Coon Elder Band, a famous Memphis swamp band, and as a solo artist, she was a backing singer for Ry Cooder and Dylan, and as a solo artist, she left behind some of the most famous female swamp records of all time Brenda Patterson. This is her first solo album in 1971, backed by Redbone and featuring Ry Cooder. The bottom of the bass, the wah guitar, the horns, and her low voice echoing in the body make this album a masterpiece of female swamp music. Her cover of Al Kooper's "I Can't Keep From Cryin' Sometimes" and Dylan & Band's "This Wheel's On Fire" are also excellent.
