It is not merely a collection of famous songs; rather, it is characterized by its composition as a continuous poetic flow in which the changing seasons of nature resonate with human emotions. Clara Osowski makes full use of the rich tonal palette of her mezzo-soprano voice to delicately portray the nuances of light and shadow characteristic of Schubert’s music. Clara Osowski is an accomplished mezzo-soprano who won the Richard Tauber Prize for the best interpretation of Schubert songs at the Wigmore Hall/Korn Foundation International Art Song Competition; this album marks her solo debut recording. Her collaborator, Timothy Lovelace, is also a master of art song accompaniment, delicately supporting the equal partnership between voice and piano characteristic of Schubert’s works.
