Simon Lax (1901-1983), a Warsaw-born composer who lived permanently in France from 1926, was sent to a concentration camp in 1941 for being a Jew, but survived by conducting the camp's orchestra. His piano works were written in a variety of styles throughout his life, most of which were unpublished before his death.
