During the making of "Yankee Hotel," Tweedy and Jay Bennett, who had been in charge of the band musically after Tweedy, had a falling out, and as a result, Jay left the band and was fired by his major label during the recording of "Yankee Hotel. The band's first album, "The Last of Us," was released in 1985.(The recording sessions are documented in the documentary "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart: A Film About Wilco, It was entered in the 2002 annual charts of MOJO, NME, Q Magazine, ROLLING STONE, UNCUT, and many other music media, and was also ranked #3 on ROLLING STONE magazine's Best Albums of the 2000's. The album was also released here in Japan. The year after the album was released in Japan, the band made its first visit to Japan for a performance at the Magic Rock Out Festival. YANKEE HOTEL FOXTROT," Wilco's biggest hit album, is being revived in an anniversary edition with the latest remastered sound sources this year, the 20th anniversary of its release. The album will be released in five different formats: 2CD, 2LP, 8CD SUPER DELUXE EDITION, 11LP+1CD SUPER DELUXE EDITION, and 7LP DELUXE EDITION (also available in digital format). YANKEE HOTEL FOXTROT (EXPANDED EDITION)" consists of two CDs: CD1 contains the original album, which was remastered in 2022, and CD2 contains "The Unified Theory of Everything", which is composed of different versions of the songs from the album that were created during the production of the album. All songs on CD2 are previously unreleased material. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album, Wilco will perform a complete re-creation of "YANKEE HOTEL FOXTROT" live in New York and Chicago from April 19 to 24.
