The members' solo activities "BABIES" and "LA SERA" are also going strong !!! The third album by Vivian Girls, a US girl indie band that has established itself in the US indie scene both in name and reality, is now available! The original release is the first on Polyvinyl, known for releases by Of Montreal and Deerhoof, leaving their old label, In The Red. In 2009, the band released their second album "Everything Goes Wrong" and embarked on a two-month tour of the U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Puerto Rico. Then, in July 2010, drummer Ali Koehler moved to Best Coast, and Coasting's Fiona Campbell joined as the new drummer. Also in 2010, each member's side projects were active, including bassist Katy's band All Saints Day with Gregg Foreman of Cat Power and his solo project La Sera, and guitarist Cassie's band The Babies with Woods' bassist Kevin Morby. The members were also actively involved in side projects. After such a dizzying two years, Vivian Girls' new album is even more powerful. The title of the album, "Share The Joy," is taken from a Burt Bacharach song, and the Vivian Girls are heavily influenced by Burt Bacharach in their songwriting. The opening track, "The Other Girls," begins with an intense guitar riff reminiscent of Nirvana, and the last track, "Light In Your Eyes," is over six minutes long, which is longer than their previous songs. length of more than six minutes, adding musical and emotional depth to the album.Under the influence of 80's indie pop (this album includes a cover of Green On Red, a band responsible for the psychedelic movement of the early 80's), the album combines catchy melodies, magical chorus work, sharp garage sounds, and sweet, warm 60's girl pop. The album is full of very honest indie rock charm, blending the essence of Recorded at Woods drummer Jarvis Tavernier's Rear House studio, the album was recorded and mixed by Jarvis Tavernier. Jarvis also recorded and mixed the album, and plays guitar and organ on the album. (See the manufacturer's info in Japan)
