Bernstein, the great musician, celebrated the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2018. This album is a collection of his beloved works and small pieces he wrote from time to time. The opening piece is the "West Side Story," which makes you want to shout "Mambo! The first piece is the famous "Mambo" from "West Side Story," which makes you want to shout out "Mambo! Next is "Slava!" written for Bernstein's close friend, cellist Rostropovich. (Rostropovich's nickname), written for Bernstein's close friend, cellist Rostropovich. This piece contains "political criticism" in the lighthearted music that is typical of Bernstein's love of the show. The song is based on a theme from the musical "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue," which was written several years ago and premiered to critical acclaim. On track 3, you will hear a suite of songs from that "failed" musical, collected and recycled. The short but impressive "On the Town" from the Times Square Ballet also leaves a strong impression.The world premiere recording of "CBS Music," which has not been performed since it was broadcast in 1978, and "Birthday Banquet," presented by Bernstein's friends in celebration of his 70th birthday, will feature thoughtful works by eight composers.
