The title track, “Ishimatsu of the Forest ~The Game of Life~,” features lyrics written by Sachiko Minami herself. It is a lively, dialogue-driven “matatabi” enka song that likens the life of Ishimatsu of the Forest—a chivalrous outlaw born in Morimachi, Enshu—to “The Game of Life.” In this new edition, the intro has been given a fresh twist, creating a distinct atmosphere right from the song’s opening. Furthermore, a new spoken line reminiscent of a famous scene from *Sanjokubune* has been added to the interlude following the second chorus. This deepens the narrative and sense of realism, transforming the song into a more dramatic piece that draws listeners into Ishimatsu’s world. The B-side track, “A Gift for Tomorrow,” is an uplifting anthem that gently reminds us that even the seemingly ordinary days that slip by are irreplaceable chapters of our lives.
