Tamio Okuda’s national hall tour, “MTRY Tour 2026 ‘Spring OohLaLa’,” was held across 17 cities for a total of 18 performances, kicking off with a show in Ichihara, Chiba, on January 11, 2026. This Blu-ray features the complete recording of the concert held at the Hitomi Memorial Hall at Showa Women’s University in Tokyo (March 29, 2026), which was originally scheduled to be the tour’s final performance. Outside the venue, the weather was “spring-like”—a clear, sunny day with cherry blossoms in full bloom—a setting that perfectly matched the tour’s title. The familiar MTR&Y lineup—Tamio Okuda (vocals/guitar), Masafumi Minato (drums), Rei Ohara (bass), and Yuta Saito (keyboards)—delivered a commanding performance centered on their well-honed groove and bold guitar riffs. Even at over 60 years old, his bold and dynamic playing shows no signs of slowing down and continues to evolve—a must-see. The main set concluded with a bluesy, mellow rendition of Yosui Inoue and Tamio Okuda’s “Unexpected Words,” making for a truly “unexpected” finale; however, during the encore, the mood shifted completely, and the venue’s energy reached its peak with the hit songs “Wanderer” and “Easy Rider.” The release also includes plenty of previously unreleased documentary footage as bonus content, offering a special glimpse behind the scenes of this tour.
