The soundtrack of Roman Polanski's unique horror film "The Tenant: The Man Who Borrowed Fear," by Philippe Sardo, has finally been remastered and reissued in color vinyl format! Based on the novel "The Paranoid" by Roland Topor, the film was written by and stars Polanski himself, and co-stars Isabelle Adjani, Melvyn Douglas, and a cast of splendid actors.Although the film was cold-shouldered at the 1976 Cannes Film Festival, it established a cult reputation over time, and as his third film with Paramount following "Rosemary's Baby" and "Chinatown," it became a classic that occupies an important place in Polanski's career. The music was composed by the young Philippe Sardo, who was only 28 years old at the time. In addition to the intricate and complex orchestration, the bizarre sound of the crystal harmonica strongly imprints an eerie and gloomy worldview.This was the first collaboration between Polanski and Sardot, and a monumental work that helped to establish the relationship between the two artists.
