Description:

A Journey through the Life of Szymanowski Kazuki Sawa and Sawako Kida gave an exceptional performance at "An Evening with Szymanowski" in 2022 to commemorate the 140th anniversary of Szymanowski's birth. This disc features session recordings of works from his early years to his later years, all by Szymanowski. The duo's mature performance of these difficult pieces, which require a high level of technical skill, delicately brings out the charm of the music with rich musical expression. Also included is a solo piano performance by Kida. The Prelude in C-sharp minor is a gem of a piece that Kida has played with great care since its premiere in Japan in 1997, and the new recording on this disc will be a valuable resource. Please enjoy this album filled with the charm of Polish composer Szymanowski. <After graduating from Toho Gakuen School of Music, she studied at the National Chopin Academy of Music in Poland (now the Chopin University of Music) on a Polish government scholarship. During her stay in Poland, she gave recitals, performed with orchestras, and made broadcast recordings of Polish works by Szymanowski, Lutoslawski, and others.Since returning to Japan, she has performed Polish works at every Tokyo Zoristen Salon Concert in addition to the "Szymanowski 3M and Mazurka" recital series (3 recitals in total), regular meetings of the Japan Szymanowski Society, and NHK-FM broadcasts. In addition to broadcast recordings with the Polish Radio Orchestra and performances with the Wilanow String Quartet and the Czech Philharmonic Soloists, he has also performed with the Polish Kalisz Philharmonic, the Wawrbudzik Philharmonic, the Tokyo New City Orchestra (Shmanowski Symphony No. 4 "Concerto Symphony" Op. He performed at the Polish Pavilion at the 2005 World Exposition in Aichi, Japan, and at the Chopin Festival 2010 in Omotesando organized by the Chopin Society of Japan in 2010. In 1993, she won the second prize in the piano section and the Jean-Frédéric Pernoud Prize at the 2nd Vienna International Competition (Austria). Studied under Hisako Ueno, Mamiko Suda, and Barbara Mushinska. She is currently a part-time lecturer at Showa Women's University, a trustee of the Meguro Arts Foundation, a regular member of the Chopin Society of Japan, and a board member of the Shimanowski Society of Japan.
